Hiking Around

Our family took advantage of the Christmas break days off and we did some hiking around town.  On New Year's Eve we hiked up to Cave of the Winds and enjoyed exploring the cave.  Here's the boys checking out the small opening into the cave.

Here's Angela and Marcus taking a turn to explore inside the cave.

Here's a family photo towards the opening of the cave.

Here's the boys and Brian posing with a view of the big bridge in town in the background.

Here's a better view of the bridge the Brian drives over every day to go to work.

On another Saturday after the first of the year, Brian went for a hike with Lucas.  Well at first it was a bike ride and then they hiked.  They had fun crossing this tree above a dry creek.

Then Lucas and Brian hiked along another trail.

Then on another occasion Brian and a friend went hiking along a narrow ridge line.  Here's Brian with a view towards Santa Fe to the east.

Here's the view to the west of the ridge line.

Brian is organizing a hiking club for dads that will go once a month on a Saturday morning to do a half day hike somewhere in the area without kids.  Their goal for the year will be to hike the tallest peak in New Mexico.
