The Moon, Venus, and Jupiter

Today was an interesting day for star gazing. Brian read about how Venus was going to be visible during the day (around 4 pm) and how at night you'd be able to see Venus and Jupiter near the moon. Here's a photo Brian took of the moon around 6 pm and off on the right side of the picture is an arrow pointing to Venus. You may need to click on the photo to see it. How strange it is to see a star in the daylight!
Then when it got a bit darker, Brian took this photo of the moon and Venus in the upper middle of the photo and Jupiter down towards the bottom of the photo.
Then he zoomed in on the Moon and took a picture over a 6 second span to get this image below clear enough to see some detail of the moon. Here's a zoomed in photo of Venus. Hard to see anything. Mars was also visible tonight in the eastern sky (somewhat reddish). The moon, Venus, and Jupiter were in the western sky. If you see this email tonight (Mar. 26) go see Venus for yourself! Venus has been the first and most bright star in the western sky for the past several nights.
