Brian celebrated his birthday as we drove to the Pippin family cabin in Utah on Aug. 27th. It was somewhat of a tradition in Brian's family to drive to Utah on his birthday, to bring siblings and later himself to college. We had Brian's favorite cake, angel food, with strawberries on top.

Is that a cake at the Pippin cabin in Utah? The background looks different from your apartment in Los Alamos; at least I didn't recognize it. Did they give it to you on the day of your birthday after you arrived, or was it a day later or so? Just curious. Looks fun! Love you, Mom
