Summer Swimming

 School's out for summer!  Angela organized a party for a few families and we celebrated the end of the school year.  Here's the boys jumping for joy.

 We decided to get a pool pass at the other pool in town that is much closer to home.  We can walk there in fact.  All 3 have been taking swimming lessons in the morning and Angela often stays there with them for a few hours afterwards.  The boys have been making significant progress in their swimming abilities.  Lucas has learned to swim on his own, mostly doggy paddle, but he goes down the slide and jumps off the diving board on his own.  Here's Lucas on the slide.

Marcus finally decided it was ok to put his face in the water and not only that but his swimming lessons teacher convinced him to go under the water and dive down to grab rings.  He now loves it!  He doesn't exactly swim yet but getting the confidence to go under is big.  He grabs things off the bottom in the shallow end.  Here he is below (on the left) along with Lucas.

Travis loves to dive down to the bottom of the deep end and look around.  He's getting to be a fast swimmer and learn many more swim strokes.

Here's a video of Lucas and Travis each jumping off of the diving board.  We must admit that it was pretty scary to watch Lucas jump off that first time, not knowing exactly whether he'd swim to the side easy enough or not since we were not dressed for swimming.  But he did it and he's enjoying it.  Recently both of these two have learned to dive into the water head first.  Hopefully a video will be made by the end of the summer of those feats.
