Some friends of ours, the Knight family, invited us to join them for a trip up in to the nearby mountains to a fishery where kids can fish for free. We had a blast and want to do it again. It was very pretty and we had a decent success. Here's Travis doing the first few casts of the day. He had quite the talent at casting as you can see in the video below.
Marcus sure wanted to be just like his brothers and wanted his turn to fish.
Lucas was our first kid to catch a fish. The rest of us were on the other side of the small lake and videoed from the other side (below). He was quite cute about catching it. Later he caught another one.
Then Travis got one himself but we decided it was too little to keep so we tossed it back. Here's Travis with his catch on the hook.
We did end up BBQing the two fish that Lucas caught. They weren't great tasting and it wasn't a lot of meat but it was a fun experience to try cooking fresh fish.
Here's a couple videos of Travis casting (isn't that an amazing cast!) and Lucas' two catches. The best is Lucas' dance after he catches his first fish. You can really hear the excitement in his voice.
