The first conference Brian went to was in Aix en Provence, France. It's near Marseilles in the south of France. Here is the relatively famous water fountain at the center of Aix. It's rather large.
Brian's group got to take a tour along the Mediterranean Sea. They stopped to enjoy one of the beaches there. The red arrow in the photo below points to Brian swimming. It wasn't very cold water.
Then the group continued along the coast and stopped at some cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean.
